My first Great Dane, Lady Ebony of HuntHollow, joined our family in 1974. Her devotion to our family and, especially, to our son was exemplary . . . and so began my 30+-year experience with this wonderful, family-oriented breed. My first show dog - also my foundation stud - was obtained from Marjorie Knapp of Knajar Kennels; his name was Knajar's Kodiak . . . a name we decided to use as our kennel name! Unfortunately, all of our photos of Ebony and Kodiak were lost in a fire in 1982, but many of the Great Danes pictured on this page are Kodiak's descendants.
